Beverly’s Angels provides brand-new essentials to children, seniors, and working families experiencing life’s hardship, while partnering with local law enforcement to strengthen compassionate community connection.

The Whisper That Became Our Why

Picture a child sliding a brand-new dress or hoodie off the hanger, removing the tag, and experiencing something many of us take for granted: having something be theirs first. For most of us, it's an ordinary moment that barely registers. For many of those we serve, it's anything but ordinary. It's a reminder that this item wasn't discarded, left behind, or simply what happened to be available. It was chosen specifically for them.

I learned the significance of that feeling when a little boy looked up at me with big brown eyes and quietly said, "I don't ever remember something being mine first." In that moment, I realized that providing something brand new isn't really about the item itself. It's about dignity, worth, and the powerful message that every person deserves to feel special, valued, and seen.

That experience became the foundation of Beverly's Angels and the reason new is our standard. We believe every child, senior, and individual we serve deserves more than what is merely acceptable. Today, our commitment to providing new items remains unchanged because of what those gifts communicate. Beyond clothing, beds, or household essentials, they send a message that someone cared enough to choose something specifically for them.

How Do We Find Those We Serve?

The individuals and families we support are referred to us by the trusted professionals who know their stories best.

Our business partners also play an important role in identifying hardworking individuals and families who could use a helping hand. Through trusted employers, including many of our partners along Fifth Avenue South, we receive nominations for employees who are working tirelessly, often balancing multiple jobs while facing the rising cost of living.

These are the people who welcome us into our favorite restaurants, greet us at our hotels, care for our families, and help make our community the paradise we all enjoy. Through our Dear Santa program, we ensure their children experience the wonder of Christmas while helping relieve the financial strain that so many hardworking families quietly face. We believe those who pour so much into our community deserve a community that pours back into them.

Because long after the clothing is worn, the bed is slept in, or the toy is unwrapped, our hope is that one feeling remains.

Our referrals come from law enforcement, victim advocates, Children's Advocacy Centers, business owners, nonprofit partners, social service agencies, and other community organizations. These are the people walking alongside children, seniors, and hardworking families during some of life's most challenging moments.

Many of our most meaningful referrals begin with a badge.

Officers arrive during life's unexpected moments and see circumstances that most of us never will. They not only recognize the need, but they also take the time to learn what makes a child smile, what brings them comfort, and what helps build trust. Whether it is a favorite superhero, soccer team, color, or simply knowing that Benny will make a frightened child smile, those personal details allow us to transform brand new essentials into something that says, "This was chosen just for you."

For the seniors we serve, maintaining independence is often the greatest gift of all. We work closely with trusted partners such as NAMI Collier County, senior service agencies, case managers, and community organizations that are dedicated to helping older adults remain safe, independent, and thriving in their own homes. Together, we create personalized Welcome Home experiences that do more than furnish a house. They restore comfort, confidence, and the feeling of home because every senior deserves the opportunity to thrive, not merely survive.

Beverly's Angels was born from two very different influences in my life: my father taught me service, and my mother taught me resilience.

My father dedicated his career to public safety and showed me from an early age the power of volunteerism, community, and showing up for people on their hardest days. Long before I founded Beverly's Angels, I watched him serve others with humility and purpose. His example continues to inspire our Hero Kits program, which equips law enforcement officers with tools to build trust, create connection, and become a source of comfort for children experiencing crisis.

My mother's lessons were far more complicated. For much of my life, I saw her through the lens of what she wasn't. Our relationship was often difficult, and there were many things I simply did not understand. It wasn't until I was caring for her later in life, determined to give her the best support possible, that I began to uncover a different story. I learned she had likely spent much of her life battling undiagnosed mental health challenges. In her generation, those struggles were often misunderstood, hidden, or never spoken about at all.

That realization changed everything. For the first time, I stopped seeing my mother for all she wasn't and started seeing her for all she was. I began to understand the resilience it took for her to make lemonade out of lemons. Long before mental health was openly discussed, long before support systems and resources were readily available, she found a way to keep moving forward. What I once viewed as shortcomings, I began to see as survival. In learning to see her differently, I learned compassion, not only for my mother, but for myself.

Even as dementia stole so much, it never took her kindness. Toward the end of her life, when she could no longer remember many names, she called everyone "Angel." After she passed, I found myself reflecting on a simple truth: every person is carrying a story we know nothing about. That belief became Beverly's Angels.

What began as a tribute to my parents has become something even greater. It has become a reflection of the values that shaped me: service, resilience, compassion, and the courage to choose love. Beverly's Angels is the legacy I am creating, one act of kindness, one connection, and one life at a time. My wish is simple: that every person we serve knows they matter, that they are seen, and that they are worthy of being someone's priority.

Who is Beverly?

In the tapestry of life, some threads are woven with challenges, while others shine with unexpected beauty.

Meet Beverly Block

Beverly, the beloved mother of our founder Faith, was a remarkable thread in this tapestry. Their journey together was one of resilience and discovery, from the days of living out of a Volkswagen van and stretching a single chicken pot pie into four meals, to the complexities of financial stability that lacked emotional connection.

Faith, a latchkey kid until the age of eight, often saw her mother through the lens of what was missing. Yet, as life unfolded, she became Beverly’s caregiver, witnessing her mother’s battle with dementia and untreatable mental health issues. It was in these tender moments, just days before Beverly’s passing, that a dear friend helped Faith see her mother’s true essence. Beverly was talented, caring, and did the best she could with the limited resources she had—both emotionally and medically.

In those final days, Faith gave her mother a renewed sense of purpose, allowing Beverly to pass with peace. This profound realization led to the birth of Beverly’s Angels, an organization dedicated to spreading kindness without the need for a specific cause. Faith now understands that Beverly was the perfect mother for her, shaping her into a compassionate leader who turned her greatest challenges into a sanctuary for thousands.

At the heart of everything we do is kindness—it is the wind in our sails, propelling us forward. We owe this spirit to Beverly, whose life and legacy continue to inspire us every day. Thank you, Beverly. You mattered, and your impact will forever be felt in the lives you have touched.
