The Kindness Squad

The Kindness Squad comprises middle and high school students dedicated to spreading kindness in our community through various tasks and activities. Their mission is to inspire thoughtful responses to challenging situations and promote acceptance and kindness among community members. Each member of TKS commits to completing a set number of volunteer hours, which can include participating in initiatives like school drives, community volunteering, and assistance at the Tinsel Team Headquarters.

The Kindness Squad fosters a diverse community of compassionate members who track their service hours and receive guidance from mentors for personal growth. Intergenerational collaboration is key as members partner across age groups to organize community drives, promoting teamwork and idea exchange. Volunteerism with the Kindness Squad cultivates leadership and empathy while addressing community needs, nurturing socially conscious individuals ready to make a difference.

Have you met

Benny?

With his long torso, slender arms and legs, and charmingly close-set eyes, he is the most lovable friend anyone could ask for.

Benny is the President of The Kindness Squad. He was appointed by the first group of children who wanted to volunteer for Beverly's Angels. With his comforting embrace and furry presence , Benny embodies the spirit of kindness, bringing solace and warmth to children in their times of need.

Not long ago, a pivotal moment unfolded within our Beverly's Angels community. During a heartwarming share time, a founding member of our kindness squad raised her hand and posed a poignant question: "May I gift my new Benny bear to a girl in need of some sunshine at school?" The recipient of her kindness was a saddened child, and our compassionate member sought to reignite the light in her eyes. This heartfelt gesture marked the official debut of Benny as our beloved mascot. With his comforting embrace and furry presence, Benny embodies the spirit of kindness, bringing solace and warmth to children in their times of need.

After Hurricane Ian struck, Jack and his family plunged into the nonprofit realm. Sorting through hundreds of items daily to aid their community, Jack found purpose in joining The Kindness Squad. Dedicated to serving in every capacity possible, he packed Christmas sacks, cochaired a holiday event at Bridge Prep, visited nursing homes to spread joy, and now lends his voice to Benny in the new book. We're immensely proud of Jack and eagerly anticipate his future endeavors.

Meet Dominick, a remarkable individual whose passion for karate, dedication to his Cub Scout troop, and deep love for his Mom shine through his vibrant personality. Volunteering at Beverly's Angels, he embodies true altruism, serving as a spokesperson for both children and seniors. Dominick's special bond with his Grandma reflects his natural affinity for our cherished senior citizens. Follow his adventures with Benny on Instagram @beverlysangels and witness the boundless impact of compassion and resilience.

Benny & THE KINDNESS

SQUAD BOOK

Not long ago, a founding member of our kindness squad raised her hand during share time and asked the most important question… “May I gift my new Benny to a girl in need of some sunshine at school?” The little girl she was referring to was sad, and The Kindness Squad member wanted to restore the light in her eyes. It was at this time that Benny became our official mascot. Kindness can come in multiple forms, and we have chosen Benny with his long arms and furry body to bring comfort to those children that need it most.

Benny’s Kindness Squad was written as an inspirational guide to spread kindness by promoting empathy and awareness in the form of a bear. Our hope is that when you read about the different circumstances the children’s peers experienced, you will learn that change occurs when we unite as a society. We encourage you to purchase the book and present it to someone who needs to experience a little more compassion. Order your book today and pay it forward!
