Thanksgiving Dinner Signature Event
Angels make their favorite holiday recipe and serve at the Alzheimer's Resource Center the Friday before Thanksgiving. Laughter, love, and traditions flow through the air. After this luncheon, the caregivers receive a beautiful package of Thanksgiving leftovers, with all the trimmings, floral boutique, and pumpkin pie. his event is what inspired the creation of Beverly's Angels.
For decades, Beverly, Faith's mother, cooked a homemade Thanksgiving meal and dropped it off to our church to be given to a family as a gesture of love. When Beverly moved in with her daughter, Faith, and son-in-law Scott, they continued this tradition with her. As Beverly's health declined, she began attending a beautiful ladies' respite program at the Alzheimer's Resource Center.
A supportive and loving handful of close friends gathered together. Together, they served the first Thanksgiving meal in 2015 to Beverly, her fellow dementia friends, their caregivers, volunteers, and the staff of the Resouce Center. Beverly was a master of trying to hide her forgetfulness and would call her friends, Angels. On September 24th, 2018, Beverly made her way to heaven. That fall, Faith's friends came together again as made a homemade Thanksgiving Dinner for the Ladies Club. That day, Beverly's Angels were born. On Christmas Eve, December 2019, Beverly's Angels received their 501 (c) 3 status.
