Mk3 Golf Wheel Bearing
My car emits a buzzing sound when driving over 20 mph, but not when I direct the left … any ideas of the cause?
Noise undoubtedly comes from the front of the car and the sound is translated into vibration in the steering wheel. When I direct it towards the left will completely divide. I talked to my mechanic and he thought it was the left front wheel bearing, but after taking wheels, I noticed a piece of metal stuck in the left tire of 1 cm wide. Could this be the problem? And … Do you know how much impact replaced should it cost? My car is a Mk3 Golf GTi R reg and I love it:) I just removed the metal piece of the rim and continues to do the same noise
I had the same problem in the back of my car and ended up being the wheel bearings. In the back was approximately 75.00 dollars and replaced it myself. I do not know about VW or is it a front or rear drive. If it is FWD, I guess the part will cost more and participate more replace. Ask different stores, they can tell the price. They are to work and how many hours should increase and their prices.
